It is still too odd for me, seeing feline features haphazardly put on humans. :/

It's an anime thing. :D I think the ears and tail idea on a human character work better when they're just wearing them as a costume (which based on how the tail is connected to her body, isn't the case with this one). I like to try and go beyond just the ears and tail when I draw characters like that by trying to add in any other details that I can, like marking or making the eyes look more catlike.
