A friend bought the field model 555 and just had to shoot a couple rounds of Trap with it. Way too light and at 6.88 # , the Trap version isn't much heavier. (That's the compact model-the full size is 7.5#, still way too light for a Trap gun) I agree with trail, not a good choice for a Trap gun.
